Adult Book Club-September 2018

This month the Adult Book Club is reading… The Bad-Ass Librarians of Timbuktu: And Their Race to Save the World’s Most Precious Manuscripts by Joshua Hammer.

“In the 1980s, a young adventurer and collector for a government library, Abdel Kader Haidara, journeyed across the Sahara Desert and along the Niger River, tracking down and salvaging tens of thousands of ancient Islamic and secular manuscripts that were crumbling in the trunks of desert shepherds. The Book Club will meet Monday,September 17th at 6:30-8:00 p.m. OR Thursday,Septmeber 20th at 10:30 a.m. -12:00 noon in the Bigelow Auditorium. Feel free to join either session.
