New Programs and Events

Spike is ready to smell the roses! Spring is in the air and April vacation is nearly here. We have many special events planned for this month in the Children’s Room. Stop by and check it out!

COMING SOON!! The YMCA will be facilitating a STEM program called Young Scientists for children ages 3 to 5 at the library. It’s a six week program, where children will get a chance explore STEM concepts through hands-on activities, storytime, challenges and simple experiments. This program begins on May 1st and registration is required. 

Baby Art Adventures  April 25 @ 11 AM. Would you like to make art with your baby? Join Ms.Jennie for a multi-sensory art experience and a lot of fun (ages 0-2). This month we’ll create teething rings!

Mad Science – April 27th @  4 PM. Scientific discoveries abound!  Mad Science is recommended for kids in grades 1 – 5. Registration is required.

SCHOOL VACATION PROGRAMS

Tuesday

Art Club – April 18th @ 10 AM. Create a masterpiece with Ms. Debby! (grades 1-5). Please pre-register.

Itty Bitty Yoga – April 18th @ 11 AM. Join Beth from Breathe Wellness Yoga as she leads toddlers and preschoolers through a variety of fun exercises and poses.

Gumdrop Architecture – April 18th @ 2 PM. Build amazing structures with gumdrops and toothpicks. Ages 5 and up.

Wednesday

Family LEGO Night – April 19th @ 5:30 PM. Join us for some LEGO challenges, free play and a snack! All ages welcome.

Thursday

Spring Storytime & Craft – April 20th @ 10 AM. Spring is here!  Join Ms. Jennie for some stories, rhymes and a craft.

Ed Popielarczyk’s Flea Circus – April 20th @ 2 PM. Prepare to be thrilled and amazed by “fleas” performing classic circus acts, in miniature!  (all ages)
Friday
HERO Kids Sports – April 21st @ 11 AM. Back by popular demand, our friends from HERO Kids Sports will visit with more obstacle courses & fitness fun!  Recommended for ages 3 – 7. Please pre-register.
Saturday
Drop-In Craft – April 22nd @ 10 AM. Stop by for a fun craft with Ms. Susan (all ages).

 

Read to a Dog!

OdieHave you met Odie? He visits the library once a month with his favorite human, Rachel. Kids who want to practice their reading are invited to cuddle up with a good book and a nice doggie, and gain confidence in their reading skills.  Keep an eye on our Event Calendar to find our when he will be here next!

Clubs, clubs, clubs!

Do you like to read? Paint? Invent things in your secret laboratory? We have a club for you!  Stop by, have fun, and meet other kids who like the same things you do.

Older elementary students who are fans of fantasy may want to check out the Muggle Support Group, where we talk about a different fantasy book every month! Kids just learning to read (in grades K-1) should stop by the New Kids on the Book club on the first Thursday of each month, and get reading!

Budding artists can explore a different medium each month with Debby in The Art Club Learn about clay, paint, felt, and more! Those more interested in the sciences might prefer to join Mad Science, and experiment with new techniques and concepts. Builders should come for our monthly LEGO Club and see what they can create! Chess Club will be meeting on the first Saturday of the month. Open to all skill level, but please know the basics before you attend.

Successful Frozen in 4D Event!

We had a full house a few weeks ago when the community came out to our special 4D presentation of Frozen! Our teen Event Planners worked hard to enhance the movie with special sound effects, wind, water sprays, and light shows. Check out our video of the event below!

 

Story Times

Everyone loves a good story, and a good story time is even better. Not only do you get to hear stories and sing songs, but you also get to make new friends! Our children’s room has a story time for every age group.
