Book Clubs:
Hooked on Books
Tuesday, September 25th @ 4:30 PM
Are you an intermediate reader who is ready to explore chapter books? Do you like to have fun? Are you “hooked on books?” Then our monthly after-school book club is for you! Each month we will explore a different genre or format.  This month, read Johanna Hurwitz’s Fourth Grade Fuss, then join Ms. Kerry for a book talk, a snack and fun activity. (Recommended for intermediate readers. Because reading ability can vary widely, this program is not age- or grade-specific.) Copies of this month’s selection are available at the Children’s circulation desk.

This month’s genre/format: Realistic Fiction
Fourth grade can be lots of fun, but Julio and his friends know it’s time to get serious when they begin preparing for the big statewide test. They plan to try every trick in the book to make sure they pass: wear their underwear inside out, use brand-new pencils, and even (gulp!) study. But when test day comes, they discover that there are some surprises that you just can’t prepare for!

(For Grades 4+. Registration is appreciated.)

Copies of each month’s book club selections are available at the children’s circulation desk.
