Learn a Language

Want to learn a new language or improve your English? Mango Languages is an online language learning software that is easy to use. “This program uses real-life situations and practical conversations to teach a new language.”* With 62 foreign languages for English speakers and 17 ESL courses for non-English speakers, there is plenty to choose from and learn!

You will only two things to get started:

  1. An internet-connected computer or device with audio capability
  2. A valid library card

You need to sign up and create an account to get started.  You can follow this link and click on “Sign Me Up” to get started. Or feel free to stop by the library for a pamphlet and ask a Reference Librarian for help getting started.

Improve your English

Aside from Mango, Marlborough Public Library is also offering free English Conversation Circles for adults at our library.  Groups meet on Mondays from 1:30 to 2:30pm. No testing or registration — just come!  All participants are encouraged to speak and practice English.  We’ll talk about current events, your interests, food, restaurants and what’s happening in Marlborough.

Bring a photo ID and proof of current address to register for a free library card.   With a library card, you can use Mango, and borrow ESL materials to practice your English at home.  We also have a growing collection of Spanish and Portuguese books and movies.
