June 24 – August 12, 2017
At the Marlborough Public Library, summer reading is not just for kids! We have a great program planned for the grown-ups in our community, too.
Build a Better World – This year’s theme captures many aspects of making this world a nicer place. Everything from keeping informed with the latest news, to being kind to others, to saving electricity, to caring for the earth – all of these efforts fall under our theme.
On June 24, come by the library to pick up your first Build a Better World Bingo Card! If you can’t come by, download the cards here. With three different cards, you can play over and over again with many different fun combinations. Each card highlights reading and community participation.
Drop off your card in the Build a Better World Bingo box across from the circulation desk at the library. Each Bingo Card submitted is one (1) entry in the prize drawing. If you have written a book review, if you have written a book review, drop that off too! If you need more book review forms, you can download it here.
Every Bingo card, kid’s reading log, and teen scratch ticket submitted as part of our summer reading program will contribute one point towards our running tally. When we hit our goal, 1000 points, the library will make a meaningful donation to the Heifer Project on behalf of our library community.
If you have any questions about Adult Summer Reading, please contact the Reference Department at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Grand Prize: The winner of the Grand Prize will receive $50 gift card of your choice plus a library tote filled with items from the vendors at the Marlborough Farmers Market. In addition, the library will make a $100 donation in the winner’s name to Habitat for Humanity.
Prize drawings: You have a chance to win one of ten (10) $25 gift cards or the Grand Prize. If your card is drawn, and you win a gift card, we will give you a list of stores/restaurants and let you choose which one you want.
Drawings The prize drawing will take place on Monday, August 14, 2017.
You can download the instructions and list of prizes here..
The library will also be hosting a number of fun events for adults throughout the summer. Visit our calendar to see all of the events and to register for those events that require registration.
