Over 100 teens from Marlborough participated in a survey to see what they’d like in their hang out area.  Then during April vacation, a group of teens met and created four designs for the Teen Room.  A second survey was sent to all teens and the winning design will serve as inspiration for the new Teen Room.

On Saturday, May 17, 2014, 25 teens volunteered their time at the library to paint the Teen Room.  Eric N., a local teen patron, coordinated and led this initiative for his Eagles Scout Service Project.  He recruited many volunteers from Boy Scout Troop 51 and The Youth of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and oversaw the teens who served on the Design Team with the painting.  Many thanks also goes out to the church crew adviser, Mr. Evans.  The colors, chosen by the winning designers, immediately brightened the space!
